MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 45-year-old Flanders woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with stealing packages that were delivered to her neighbors.
According to police, at 3:29 p.m. on December 14, they responded to Overlook Apartment Complex for a past tense report of stolen packages.
The victim, a resident of the Overlook Apartments, reported that she saw packaging previously stolen from her with her name and address on it outside for recycling, police said.
During the course of the investigation, police determined that the recycling was put out by the victim’s neighbor. After speaking to the neighbor and observing some of the stolen items in the common area of the apartment, it was determined that the neighbors’ roommate, Lori Donegan was the suspect of the theft, police said.
Police responded to Donegan’s place of employment to speak to her and she admitted the stolen items were in her apartment. She provided consent to search her apartment and police retrieved the stolen items, police said.
Donegan was charged with theft of movable property and receiving stolen property. She was released pending court.
