Target employee arrested, allegedly threatens in note ‘I have a gun come find me’

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – An employee of a Warren County Target store was arrested Wednesday after leaving a threatening note in the store’s bathroom.

Township police responded to Target, located at 1204 New Brunswick Ave, at 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, for the report of a paper left in the men’s bathroom stating, “I have a gun come find me”, police said.

The store was evacuated and a search resulted in no further threats, police said.

An investigation by police ensued and shortly thereafter Travis Cheatum, 28, of Phillipsburg, NJ was arrested.

Cheatum was charged with the third degree false public alarm and released with a Warren County Superior Court date.

The Greenwich Township Police Department was assisted by Pohatcong and Lopatcong Township Police Departments.
