Christmas 2016: What’s open, what’s closed

This year Christmas falls on Sunday and the observed holiday for many workers will be on Monday, December 26.

Here’s a list of what’s open and what’s closed for the Christmas holiday weekend.

Federal, State and Local Municipal Offices: Most are closed through Monday, December 26.

New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles: New Jersey DMV offices are closed Monday.

Libraries: The four branches of Warren County Library system are closed Saturday through Monday, December 26; the Phillipsburg Free Public Library and the Hackettstown Free Public Library are closed through Monday.

Money and Markets: The New York Stock Exchange is closed Monday. Most banks and financial institutions are closed as well.

NJ Transit: On Saturday, December 24, trains will operate on a weekend schedule. On Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, trains will operate on a weekend schedule on all rail lines. On Monday, December 26 (observed), trains will operate on a weekend schedule on all lines, with additional morning and evening peak trains on most lines.
