Cops: Man allegedly opens cell phone charger package and charges phone inside Walgreens

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A 26-year-old Port Murray man is facing a criminal mischief charge after allegedly opening a cell phone charger package to charge his phone.

At 7:45 p.m. on Christmas Day, township police were called to Walgreens on the report of a male in the store who was possibly shoplifting and appeared to be under the influence, police said.

Officers located Kevin Fenty and determined he had opened a cell phone charger package to charge his phone, police said.

Fenty had also eaten candy bars while in the store without paying for them. The store allowed him to pay for the candy bars and he was arrested for damaging the cell phone packaging, police said.

Fenty was charged with criminal mischief and released pending a court appearance.
