MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 27-year-old Long Valley, NJ man is facing drug charges after being involved in a car crash on Wednesday, Mount Olive police said.
At 1: 37 p.m., township police responded to Route 46, in the area of Plaza 141, for the report of a traffic accident involving two vehicles, police said.
One of the two vehicles involved in the crash, was a 2015 white Volkswagen, driven by Thomas M. Reilly, police said.
As an officer was speaking with Reilly, the officer noted that he appeared to be impaired. Reilly was asked to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest, police said.
A search of Reilly’s vehicle produced a pill bottle containing Xanax pills, police said.
Reilly was charged with possession of Xanax, possession of paraphernalia, under the Influence of CDS, DWI, reckless driving, and CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
There were no injuries associated with the accident and the second vehicle involved was able to be driven from the scene.
