Man busted for drugs after coming to Mt. Olive police station smelling of pot

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 28-year-old Belleville man is facing charges after allegedly driving to the Mount Olive police station with a suspended license and carrying illegal drugs.

At 2:46 p.m. on Wednesday, a township police officer meet with Luis E. Bermudez Jr. at the police station to pick up his lost property, police said.

As the officer spoke with Bermudez, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from Bermudez’s person, police said.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Bermudez was in possession of two baggies containing suspected marijuana, and a baggie containing six Adderall pills, police said.

Bermudez was charged with possession of CDS schedule I-IV, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and driving while suspended. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
