LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – Three people were sent to the hospital following an excessive use of spray paint at a LabCorp office in Lopatcong Township.
On Monday morning, emergency crews were dispatched to the LabCorp office, 411 Coventry Drive, for an unknown type odor inside the building with multiple people feeling ill, according to a post on the Lopatcong Emergency Squad’s Facebook page.
After crews arrived on scene, it was confirmed that there was an odor and with the anticipation of multiple patients, a level 1 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) was requested.
Three patients were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.
An investigation was conducted by the Lopatcong Township Fire Department and the Warren County HazMat team. The odor was determined to be an excessive use of spray paint without ventilation.
Assisting at the scene was Belvidere, Franklin Twp, Phillipsburg and Greenwich Twp emergency services.
