On Thursday, Jan. 26th, Morning Mike had the opportunity to talk with Kevin Stewart, from the American Lung Association Mid-Atlantic, of which New Jersey is a part. January is Radon Action Month and Kevin covered some important points for residents of northwestern New Jersey, considered a “Tier 1” area for radon exposure. The most important step is to test your home for radon. Kits are inexpensive and readily available. Here is some contact information Kevin shared with us, where you can get more information on testing. Learn more through the American Lung Association at www.lung.org, or by calling 1-800-LUNG-USA (1-800-586-4872). Find out more from New Jersey DEP’s Radon Section at www.NJRADON.org or by calling 1-800-648-0394 (from within NJ).
