GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Pennsylvania man who concealed more than $200 worth of games under his jacket also possessed heroin and marijuana.
On Saturday at 2:11 p.m., township police were dispatched to Target, located at 1204 New Brunswick Ave, for the report of an adult man that was shoplifting, police said.
When officers arrived, Target’s Loss Prevention officer had Edwin Rodriguez, 20, of Bethlehem, PA in custody. Rodriguez allegedly removed numerous video games from its packaging and concealed them under his jacket. The total value of the games were $259.91, police said.
Rodriguez was searched and he was found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana, and a glass pipe containing marijuana residue (drug paraphernalia). He also had an active arrest warrant out of Northampton County Sheriff’s Department for an unpaid fine, police said.
Rodriguez was charged with third degree possession of heroin, fourth degree shoplifting, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a fugitive from justice. He was transported to the Warren County Jail and is to appear in Superior Court on January 30.
