HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Some Hackettstown Police Officers went above and beyond the call of duty Thursday.
As today’s snowfall tapered, some senior citizens around Hackettstown were doing what most would do, start shoveling and cleaning off their cars.
Sgt. Darren Tynan, Ptl. Jim Murtha and Ptl. Brendan McGarry went around to their local senior citizen complexes to help shovel their parking spots and clean off their cars.
“This was something we just wanted to do,” Sgt. Darren Tynan said.
“After today’s snow storm, we assisted some of our senior citizens get their cars cleaned and parking spots shoveled out. #protectandserve,” police said on their Facebook page.
“Many of the senior citizens were surprised when we pulled up and started to assist them in the snow removal, Tynan said. “They were gracious and appreciative.”
