Hackettstown (Warren County) – John Franco has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Caldwell College and Nicole Roberts has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Cedar Crest College, according to Bob Grauso, Athletic Director at Hackettstown High School.
Franco will continue his studies and compete on the NCAA Division ll Baseball team at Caldwell College, according to Grauso.
After an exciting and successful junior year for the Hackettstown baseball team, Franco helped lead the Tigers to the Sectional Final while compiling 30 hits, 24 RBI’s and a batting average of .398. He was also 4-1 on the mound and earned Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference 1st Team honors and was selected 2nd Team all NJ Herald, Grauso said.
Franco is off to a great start this senior season, currently batting .468 and a record of 3-0 as a pitcher for the 6-2 Tigers, Grauso added.
Hackettstown Baseball Coach Gary Poyer adds, “John sets the example for hard work and discipline on and off the field for our program. Coach Messina and the Cougars are getting a quality player who will be an asset to the Caldwell College team.”

Roberts will continue her studies and compete on the NCAA Division 3 Swim team at Cedar Crest College, according to Grauso
Roberts was an important member of the Hackettstown High School swim team and competed at the Varsity level since its inception 3 years ago,Grauso said
Roberts competed in the 50 Freestyle and 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays and hopes to help the Falcon’s and women’s swim Coach Katie Vincent next year, Grauso added.
