MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Warren County man is facing numerous drug charges after police found heroin and meth in a car he was driving on Tuesday afternoon.
At 1:41 p.m., a township officer was on routine patrol when the officer observed a 2003 Chevrolet traveling on Route 46 fail to maintain its lane of travel. The officer then initiated a motor vehicle stop with the vehicle in the area of the Hackettstown Exxon Gas Station, police said.
The officer made contact with the driver, who was identified as Frankie N. Rios, 33, of Phillipsburg, NJ. A check of Rios’ credentials showed that his driver’s license was suspended, and an active warrant for $500.00 out of Phillipsburg Municipal Court, police said.
Rios was placed under arrest, and a subsequent search of Rios produced a hypodermic syringe and a plastic container holding suspected methamphetamine and glassine folds of suspected heroin, police said.
A search of the vehicle produced additional hypodermic syringes, additional baggies containing suspected narcotic residue, a metal pipe and tinfoil containing suspected narcotic residue, police said.
Rios was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with Intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes, driving while suspended, unregistered motor vehicle, unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit insurance card, child safety seat violation, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, obstructed view and failure to maintain lane.
Rios was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
