HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – An alleged dispute over “cutting in line” at a Hackettstown Quick Chek Saturday evening, led to a Somerset County man facing charges.
At 7:58 p.m., town police responded to Quick Chek, located at 146 Route 182, in reference to a disorderly person, police said.
When police arrived on scene, they observed two individuals arguing outside the store, police said.
The officer attempted to acquire information from the one suspect. The suspect provided the officers with multiple false names, date of birth and a social security number, police said.
The suspect was identified the male as Patrick Hammond, 32, of Somerville, NJ.
An investigation revealed that Hammond was upset because customers were continuing to cut in front of him at the register, police said.
Hammond also had a NJ wanted person warrant that was issued by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was issued for nonpayment of child support in the amount of $16,595.85, police said.
Hammond was charged with obstruction administration of law, harassment, disorderly conduct and hindering. He was then turned over to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
