HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown mother allegedly found passed out with a can of beer is facing child endangerment charges after her young sons ran into the street and told a passerby they couldn’t wake her up, police said.

Police responded to the 700 block of Washington St at 5:39 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of two boys, 2-year-old and 5-year old, that just ran into the roadway. The passerby that stopped to call police, advised that the kids were saying they can’t wake their mom, police said.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the mother, Jamie Stollenmaier, 20, passed out in a bed holding an open 16-ounce can of Budweiser. The officer also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the mom.

Stollenmaier was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.

The Division of Child Protection and Permanency took custody of the children.
