Wanted man found hiding 30 feet up a tree

BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Township police found a wanted man who was hiding thirty feet up a tree Tuesday morning.

At 11:51 a.m., township police received a call from an anonymous source about a male, later identified as Thomas Depuy of Blairstown Township, who was wanted out of Pennsylvania on robbery charges, police said.

After the warrant was confirmed, police responded to his residence on Hope Rd. When police arrived at the home, they made contact with a female who stated that she does not know where Depuy went and that he was just in the driveway working on her vehicle, police said.

Police searched for Depuy in the back area of the property where a storage facility is located and the residence but had negative results, police said.

While waiting for a confirmation of a K-9 to respond, police observed Depuy, approximately thirty feet high in a tree. Police ordered him to come down, which he did and was placed under arrest, police said.

Depuy was charged with being a fugitive from justice.
