LONG HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities have arrested two men in connection with an alleged February armed robbery of a convenience store in Long Hill Township and a alleged March armed robbery of a Krauszer’s food store in Warren Township.

The arrest of Frank E. Kline, 52, and David B. Domanski, 53, both of Washington Township, Warren County, was announced Tuesday by Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Warren Township Chief of Police William Keane.

The robbery in Long Hill occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Country Farms convenience store on Division Avenue in the Millington section of the township. An investigation revealed that a white male entered the store, pointed a handgun towards the clerk, demanded money, and discharged one round in the direction of the clerk. The clerk turned over a sum of money and the suspect immediately fled on foot. There were no injuries reported, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Long Hill Township Police Chief Michael Mazzeo.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that on March 26 at 8:39 p.m., Warren Township Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery at the Stirling Road Krauszer’s food store. Responding officers met with an employee who reported that a male, approximately 50 years old, wearing dark clothing, light colored tactical boots and a white baseball hat entered the store. The individual approached the employee and while displaying a handgun demanded cash from the register. The victim complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency from the cash register.

During the course of this investigation, Washington Township Police (Warren County) contacted Warren Township Police detectives and advised that defendant Kline fit the description of the suspect they were looking for and that he was also a suspect within their jurisdiction on a similar type of incident.

On Thursday, April 13 detectives from Warren Township, Long Hill Township and Washington Township conducted a physical surveillance on defendant Kline, in the Washington Township area, and confirmed that he matched the physical description displayed in the still photos obtained from video footage in the Krauszer’s armed robbery. Additionally, he was also wearing clothing that he wore during the armed robbery.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that Warren Township detectives obtained a Superior Court Search Warrant for Kline and his residence.

At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Warren Township detectives with the assistance of detectives from Washington Township Police Department, Phillipsburg Police Department and Long Hill Township Police Department detained defendant Kline in Phillipsburg, New Jersey pursuant to the Superior Court Search Warrant. He was transported to the Washington Township Police Department for further investigation.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that at 6:17 p.m., detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Warren Township Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Washington Township Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Long Hill Township Police Department executed a Superior Court Search Warrant at defendant Kline’s Belvidere Avenue residence.

During the investigation it was determined that defendant Domanski was also involved in the armed robbery. At 8:30 p.m. Warren Township detectives responded to Domanski’s Washington Arms apartment to speak with him. Domanski then voluntarily responded, with the Warren Township detectives, to Washington Township Police Headquarters for further investigation.

Kline and Domanski were charged with one count of first degree armed robbery, and one count of second degree unlawful possession of a firearm in the Warren Township armed robbery.

Both men were charged with one count of first degree robbery and one count of conspiracy. Kline also faces two additional counts for second degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes in the Long Hill Township armed robbery. Both defendants were lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
