Rev. Fowler welcomed scholar, researcher, educator, author, and international speaker, John Horvat II to the program. For more than two decades John has been researching and writing about what’s gone wrong with America’s culture and economy. John and Rev. Fowler discussed “The Stuff Nobody Wants.”
“Healthier Living” – Tuesday, April 25th @ 10:05 a.m.
Presented by the Hackettstown Medical Center, co-hosted by Lisa Dimiceli, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for HMC, and Jim Furgeson, Chief Development Officer of the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center. This edition of “Healthier Living” focused on a general discussion of the issue of substance abuse and what is being done to combat it in our area. Guests included Chief James Macaulay from the Hackettstown Police Department, Mary Jo Harris, Community Coalition Coordinator from the Coalition for Healthy and Safe Communities, and Liz Sartori Director, from the Counseling and Addiction Center at Hackettstown Medical Center.
“Rob Jennings At Large” – Wednesday, April 26th @ 10:05 a.m.
“Rob Jennings At Large” is a monthly program featuring interviews with New Jersey newsmakers. Your host is Rob Jennings, a writer for the Star-Ledger newspaper and NJ.com. Rob spoke with Wayne McCabe, president of the Sussex County Historical Society. Wayne is also the architectural historian at Waterloo Village. In the second half of the program, Rob talked with Cherie Shortway, who runs a “Couch to 5K” program in northwestern Jersey. Graduation day, in the form of a 5K race, is on May 7th. Several dozen are involved and Cherie discussed the role of her program in promoting fitness and activity.
“Newsline” – Thursday, April 27th @ 10:05 a.m.
In the first portion of the program, WRNJ News Director Joyce Estey welcomed Jeanette Iurato, a member of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, to discuss Blairstown being the first New Jersey municipality to be designated an Appalachian Trail Community. In the second portion of Newsline Hackettstown High School Athletic Director Bobby Grauso revealed the inaugural inductees into the Hackettstown High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
