A former Washington Borough Clerk is charged with writing herself nearly $98,000 in checks from borough funds. 47 year old Kristine Blanchard of Easton, Pennsylvania, received a number of charges following an investigation by Washington Township Police and the Warren County Prosecutor’s office.
Authorities allege that between August of 2011 and June of 2016, while serving as Borough Clerk, Blanchard wrote checks to herself totaling $97,682.00 from Borough accounts which she later cashed. She received three second degree charges, each carrying a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.
The Warren County native started as borough clerk in June 2006, and was indefinitely suspended from the Clerk position after police secured her office in July of 2016.
