WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A raccoon that was involved in an altercation with a dog has tested positive for rabies in Washington Township.
At 5:00 p.m. on Monday, a resident on West Mill Road witnessed her dog engaged in an altercation with a raccoon, police said.
The owner of the dog was able to finally separate both animals and ultimately discovered the raccoon was deceased, police said.
The raccoon was tested the next date which confirmed it was rabid, police said.
