HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A reverend is facing invasion of privacy charges after an alleged incident involving an employee at a Hackettstown church.
According to police, on June 27, 2016 at 10:41 a.m., town police spoke to the victim, who observed Reverend Terry Herzberg, 66, of Tannersville, PA taking photos of her intimate body parts while at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, located at 409 East Baldwin St, in Hackettstown.
A search warrant was issued and various electronics from the church and from Herzberg’s residence were seized, police said.
Through an investigation it was determined that between November 5, 2013 and June 27, 2016 Herzberg attempted to photograph up the victims skirt while she was sitting at her desk, police said.
Herzberg also took videos up the victims skirt on multiple occasions between July 13, 2015 and June 27, 2016, police said.
Herzberg turned himself in on Thursday at the Warren County Courthouse and was charged with third-degree invasion of privacy and third-degree criminal attempt invasion of privacy. He awaited his first appearence.
Assisting the Hackettstown Detective Bureau was the Warren County Prosecutors Office SVU and the New Jersey State Police Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory.
