CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Authorities have charged a man in connection with the alleged theft of a Ronald McDonald statue from the McDonald’s in Clinton Township.
Thomas Roman, 56, of Point Pleasant, NJ, has been charged with receiving stolen property, according to the Hunterdon County prosecutor’s office.
The life size statue of Ronald McDonald sitting on a bench was stolen from the McDonald’s Restaurant, located at 185 Center St, between 11:00 p.m. April 26 and 10:00 a.m. April 27. The restaurant was undergoing renovations when the theft occurred.
The 250-pound statue was found and returned to franchise owners Philip and Diane Koury on May 5.
Officials didn’t provide details into how the statue was recovered.
