Alleged DWI suspect drives through several front yards and strikes a tree

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated Thursday evening after she allegedly drove through several front lawns then striking a tree.

At 8:25 p.m., township police responded to the area of 60 Zellers Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries, police said.

When officers arrived, they located a Chevy pickup truck that had struck a tree on Zellers Road after running off the roadway and driving through several front lawns, police said.

Through a police investigation, it was found that the driver, who was identified as Jennie Worthington, was allegedly driving while intoxicated, police said.

Worthington was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center for observations, police said.

Worthington was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to keep right. She was released pending a court appearance.
