CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A mother and her son are facing numerous drug charges after they were allegedly selling drugs out of their Chatham Township home, police said.
Chatham Township police Department along with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit conducted a search of the residence on Lincoln Circle on Wednesday following a lengthy investigation, police said.
During the search, officers located packaged marijuana, items used in the distribution of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and several thousand dollars in cash, police said.
Chatham Township Officers and Morris County Sheriff’s Officers also rendered first aid to an individual at that location who became unresponsive due to a possible drug overdose. Officers administered Narcan successfully and the individual regained responsiveness, police said.
The homeowner, Tiffany Gibbs, 47 and her son Tyler Campbell, 18, were arrested and charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. They were subsequently released pending a future court hearing.
“The successful conclusion to this lengthy investigation should send a clear message that we stand committed to assuring that our neighborhoods are safe and drugs have no place in them,’’ said Chatham Township Police Chief Steven Hennelly.
Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon lauded a trio of officers for their life saving efforts. He noted that Sheriff’s K-9 handler Officer James VanValen, who help save the life, is one of several members of his staff currently trained in the use of Naxolone.
“Chief Steven Hennelly and I are both proud of the fact that while carrying out other Public Safety duties, Sheriff’s Detective VanValen and Chatham Township Patrolman Scott Herchick and Chatham Township Detective Anthony LoPorto were able to put their training to work in order to save a life,” said Gannon.
