Wardrobe of Hope offers career clothing for women in Warren County

WASHINGTON – The Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center (DASACC) of Warren County provides free clothing for women through Wardrobe of Hope clothing boutique. Wardrobe of Hope is a partnership between NORWESCAP Career & Life Transition Center for Women (CLTC) and DASACC to provide appropriate women’s attire to attend an interview, return to work, or begin a new job free of charge. Wardrobe of Hope Clothing Boutique is located at 29A Broad Street, in Washington, NJ. The shop is open Tuesday evenings from 5:00-8:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am-2:00pm.  All are welcome, no pre-registration required and no personal information needed to access the clothing boutique.   You do not need to be a client of DASACC or NORWESCAP

According to a study conducted at Oregon State University, people make an impression within the first 10 seconds of meeting and interviewers decide whether you are suited for the position.  Appearance, therefore, plays a factor as 10 seconds does not leave time for personality and qualifications to make an impact.  Furthermore, the right clothes aid to build a woman’s confidence at an interview.

Longtime DASACC volunteer Barbara Brady, from Great Meadows, has taken the lead in the transformation of the Wardrobe of Hope space.  Brady also believes “that women deserve an elegant, transformative environment to begin their new journey.”
