LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – One suspect has been arrested while another remains at large in connection with an alleged home burglary Wednesday evening in Lopatcong Township.
At 10:30 p.m., township police responded to a residence on Rugby Road for the report of a stolen motorcycle from a residence, police said.
It was reported to police that two black males entered the residence through an unlocked front door. The victim stated that one of the suspects proceeded to remove his motorcycle from his foyer, before driving off with it and the other suspect fled in a vehicle, police said.
A short time later, the Easton Police Department contacted Lopatcong Police and advised that they had the suspects on a motor vehicle stop and recovered the motorcycle. The suspects were identified as Arande B. Major, 30, of Newark, NJ, and Steven E. Zimmerman II, 27, of Hillside, NJ. Major was taken into custody by Easton PD for receiving stolen property and subsequently lodged in Northampton County jail pending a hearing, police said.
Major was charged by the Lopatcong Police with theft by unlawful taking and burglary. Zimmerman was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, police said.
Major’s charges are pending as he awaits extradition back to New Jersey, while Zimmerman currently remains at large, police said.
