HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – Police are investigating a burglary on Oklahoma Trail after a resident told them that they came home on Wednesday to find their home ransacked and approximately $7,000 in jewelry and cash stolen.

The resident told police that several pieces of jewelry had been stolen, including two gold bands, a Diamond engagement ring with a silver band, a Hopatcong class ring with a silver band, small diamonds and “Jessica” engraved in it and a black Fossil watch. There was also an undetermined amount of cash stolen, police said.

The break-in happened sometime while the resident was at work, police said.

There may have been a small silver 4 door sedan that stopped by Kansas way, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hopatcong Police Department at 973-398-5000.
