Morning Mike recently had the chance to catch up with Dr. Frieda Birnbaum, a Research Psychologist, Psychoanalyst and Author of “What Price Power: An In-Depth Study of the Professional Woman in a Relationship.” An expert on depression, women’s issues, and attaining happiness, Dr. Birnbaum commented on a recent study regarding the effect on technology on our overall health. Research on 11,000 adults found that those who meets friends and family at least three times a week were far less likely to suffer from depression. Individuals who only had contact with friends and/or family just once every few months had an 11.5% of later suffering from depressive symptoms within two years. Dr. Birnmaum suggested that Millennials were especially at risk, given their tendency toward a much greater use of technology for work and social media during free time.
