INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Police are warning residents to be vigilant following a recent attempted car break-in.
According to police, unknown individual(s) attempted to break into a vehicle in the area of Route 46 and Water St early Tuesday morning.
A car handle was broken but the assailants were unable to make entry, police said.
Neighbors explained to police that a few weeks earlier they noticed 3 people walking through their back yard in the middle of the night attempting to open car doors. The cops were not called, police said.
“Please understand that it is harder to prevent crime if we do not know where the crime is happening. Please report all suspicious activity to your local PD; it will help us to better serve and protect you,” police said.
