The following is a list of Memorial Day weekend events and parades happening in NorthWest New Jersey.
WARREN COUNTY:
HACKETTSTOWN – The Hackettstown Rotary’s Club 22nd Memorial Motor Madness Car Show on Sunday, May 29 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Mars Chocolate North America,800 High St Hackettstown, NJ. Thousands will thrill to the sounds of the oldies while they swoon over vintage cars, Corvettes, muscle cars and more. The event is held rain or shine and gates open to cars at 7:30 am. LOPATCONG – Memorial Day & Veterans Rally Point Dedication Ceremony on Sunday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m., Lopatcong Municipal Park (Rain or Shine). HACKETTSTOWN – The American Legion once again hosts the Hackettstown Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 30. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. and it will conclude with the Memorial Day Service at Union Cemetery on Mountain Ave.
KNOWLTON – Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead will be hosting their annual Memorial Day Picnic by the River on Monday, May 30 from 1 – 3 pm at the Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead, 140 Rt. 46, Knowlton, NJ. Bring your picnic lunch and enjoy our historic site, situated on the banks of the Delaware River. Memorial Day tributes, family activities, historic tours, scenic walks and use of the boat launch on the Delaware River. Looking forward to seeing you at our historic site settled ca.1794. PHILLIPSBURG – The Memorial Day Parade will kick off from Abbott Street onto South Main Street at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30. As soon as the parade reaches Shappell Park the Ceremony will begin. Mr. Roger DiVittorio is the Chairman of the Parade Committee and Master of Ceremonies. Main address will be delivered by Thomas J. Fey, Warren County Legion Commander along with several readings and a selection by the Phillipsburg High School Band. After the Ceremony at Shappell Park the parade will continue down South Main Street to the Free Bridge where the Bernardine May American Legion Post 457 Firing Squad will join Members of the Brown and Lynch American Legion Post and Marine Corps for the short ceremony in the center of the bridge. Mayors from both Easton and Phillipsburg will toss a wreath into the Delaware River and Phillipsburg Band and Easton Band will play the National Anthem.
MORRIS COUNTY:
DOVER – The Town of Dover is having it’s annual Memorial Day Parade on May 30 at 10 a.m. The parade will set up on Rutan Drive at 9 a.m.
MOUNT OLIVE – A Memorial Day Rememberance will be held on May 30 at Turkey Brook Park. The event will include dedication of the War Dog Memorial at 10:30 a.m., a ceremony with a march, raising of the flag and the national anthem at 11:20 and a memorial service at 11:45 a.m. A Patriots in the Park event including live performances and various exhibits will take place after noon.
PARSIPPANY – The parade is scheduled for Monday, May 30, starting at noon at Sylvan Way and Route 202 and heading down Route 202 to Rita Drive, where a reviewing stand will be set up.
RANDOLPH – The Randolph Memorial Post 7333 Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a Memorial Day ceremony on May 30 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the monument located at the VFW Post at 103 Carrell Road. The ceremony includes paying tribute to all veterans who paid the ultimate price.
ROXBURY – The Roxbury Township and the Roxbury Veterans of Foreign War Post 2833 are hosting the Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Monday, May 30. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. from the Meeker Street parking lot of the Lincoln/Roosevelt School, proceed south on Hillside Avenue to Main Street, east along Main Street to Eyland Avenue, south along Eyland Avenue, proceed across Route 10, to Horseshoe Lake, and end at the Veterans’ Memorial on Memory Lane.
SUSSEX COUNTY:
HOPATCONG – The Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. and it will begin at Borough Hall and continue on to Veteran’s Field on Flora Avenue.
HUNTERDON COUNTY:
READINGTON – The Readington Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony will be held Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. on Main St. The parade will end at the Readington Township Municipal Building with a Memorial Ceremony followed by a family day in Pickell Park with music, rides for children, free hot dogs and drinks.
