MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two Blairstown Township residents are facing drug charges after being stopped by police early Monday morning.
At 1:01 a.m., a township officer was on patrol in the area of State Hwy 46 when he observed a 2013 Honda with an equipment violation and then initiated a motor vehicle stop, police said.
As the officer was spoke with the driver, who was identified as Alyssa McNeil, 19, the officer allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle, police said.
McNeil was asked to exit her vehicle and she allegedly advised the officer that there was a glass pipe in the center console. The officer then asked the passenger, Tanner Lamb, 24, to exit the vehicle, police said.
A search was conducted, which yielded a mason jar containing suspected marijuana, three glass pipes containing suspected marijuana residue, and a small fold of suspected marijuana wax, police said.
Both were placed under arrest, and a search incident to arrest lead to an additional glass pipe with suspected marijuana residue in possession of McNeil and a plastic bag of suspected ketamine in possession of Lamb, police said.
McNeil was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, operation after hours with learner’s permit, failure to have decal on license plate, and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Lamb was charged with possession of ketamine.
Both were released pending a court hearing.
