$1K reward offered for info on dog abuse in Denville Twp.

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities in Denville are investigating a case of animal abuse involving a six-year-old Coonhound named Duke, who suffered injuries consistent with animal abuse during a 24-hour period last week after he ran away from home.

Duke left his East Glen Road home in the Rock Ridge section of the township on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at about 9 a.m. and was not found until almost 24 hours later. He was found the next morning by a resident on River Road who contacted Denville Animal Control and Cruelty Investigator Meredith Petrillo.

Petrillo’s said that Duke sustained numerous injuries consistent with animal abuse, and he was in a lot of pain. The dog was immediately reunited with his family and then taken to a veterinarian for care.
