2 charged with methamphetamine possession after traffic stop in Mt Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two Warren County residents are facing numerous drug charges including a possession of methamphetamine charge.

Kenneth Beers III, 38, of Belvidere was charged with DWI, possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lamps, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription legend drug and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Jackalyn A. Bolcar, 28, of Blairstown was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Thursday at 11:23 p.m., a township officer was on patrol on Route 46 when the officer allegedly observed a grey GMC pickup truck with an inoperable license plate light and failing to maintain a lane of travel, police said.

The officer stopped the vehicle on Route 46 near Old Wolfe Road and made contact with Beers, when she allegedly noticed obvious signs of impairment, police said.

During the course of the investigation, police allegedly located inside the vehicle prescription drugs, not prescribed to Beers, police said.

Beers was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said.

Bolcar had in her possession methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Both were transported to headquarters for processing and were released pending a court hearing, police said.
