HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Union County man is facing multiple charges including human trafficking after he allegedly held a female against her will and forced her to prostitute herself, according to Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and the Hanover Township Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark Roddy.
Torrie Fogg, 41, of New Providence was charged last week with third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree criminal restraint, third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third-degree promoting prostitution and False Imprisonment. He was additionally charged on Tuesday with two counts of first-degree human trafficking, Knapp said.
On August 17, the Hanover Township Police Department responded to a dispute at a local hotel. While investigating the case, the alleged victim, a 31-year-old female told police she was being held against her will and was forced to prostitute herself. It was alleged that Fogg made arrangements for the victim to meet with several male clients at area hotels and would then collect the money received after the sexual acts were completed. The victim told police that she was allegedly assaulted by Fogg if she did not comply and engage in sexual acts with the clients, Knapp said.
Fogg is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a pre-trial detention hearing on the original charges, which is currently set for Wednesday, Knapp said.
