RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Califon Borough woman was charged after she allegedly attempted to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud last week.
Brienne L. Fitzsimmons, 31, was charged with attempting to obtain a prescription legend drug by forgery or deception.
On August 22 at 1:17 p.m., township police responded to the Shop-Rite Pharmacy, located on Route 202/31, for a report of a suspected fraudulent prescription for Alprazolam which was allegedly received via telephone, police said.
The information was collected and the pharmacist was advised to call police if anyone came to pick up the prescription, police said.
Officers were called back to the pharmacy at 8:54 p.m. for a report that someone was there to pick up the earlier reported prescription, police said.
Fitzsimmons was subsequently charged and released from police headquarters after processing, police said.
