ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis is hosting the 28th Annual North American Police Soccer Tournament this week and police officers around the country are participating including a team from New Jersey.

The NJ Blue Soccer team consists of 15 police officers from across the state and includes Hackettstown Police Officer Ed Blas.

The group contacted the Special Olympics of Missouri and said they wanted to put on a soccer clinic while they were in St. Louis.

On Tuesday, the team took some time out of their schedule to help students at a local school. The team put on the clinic for students at the Nottingham Community Access Job Training High School. The school is a work program for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities.

“It’s always nice and a beautiful thing to see these kids smile,” Blas said.
