WASHINGTON BORO, N.J. (Warren County) – One person is in custody after a barricade situation this afternoon.
Washington Twp Police, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Warren County Tactical Response Team responded Tuesday around 4:00 p.m. to reports of a suspect, who was allegedly armed, that was barricaded inside a residence in the 300 block of Belvidere Avenue, according to radio reports.
There had also been an evacuation of a surrounding resident but they have since been allowed back the their home, according to radio reports.
“Police activity in the 300 block of Belvidere Ave. In Washington Boro. Use alternate routes till further notice,” according to a post on the Washington Twp Police Twitter page.
As of 5:28 p.m.”The police activity on Belvidere Avenue has concluded. The road is now open to through traffic,” according to a post on the Washington Twp Police Twitter page.
