WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Washington Township police are asking for the public’s help in finding a car that drove away after allegedly hitting a pedestrian on Route 46 near Hearthstone Road early Friday morning.
At 06:46 a.m., a township officer responded to Route 46 eastbound in the area of Hearthstone Road for a male requesting assistance, police said.
After police arrived, the officer spoke with the twenty-five year male, who advised the officer that he was struck by a motor vehicle overnight and then pulled himself off the roadway until daybreak, police said.
The man advised that the vehicle that allegedly struck him was a dark colored compact possible a Honda Civic, police said.
The man was later transported to Hackettstown Medical Center for a leg injury, police said.
