SPARTA TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sparta man is facing charges after he allegedly damaged three cars and unlawfully entered a residence last week, according to Sparta Township Police Lt. John Lamon.
Mark Yurchak, 48, was charged with three counts of criminal mischief and one count of unlawful entry into a residence.
On Thursday morning, patrols responded to the area of Conestoga Trail for reports of damaged vehicles, Lamon said.
Police Officer Timothy Lynott spoke with a homeowner, who stated that two of his vehicles had been damaged by bricks that were thrown at them, Lamon said.
Another neighbor reported that his vehicle was damaged by a large rock being thrown through the windshield. He also stated that someone entered his residence and placed items outside his bedroom door, Lamon said.
Patrols scoured the surrounding neighborhoods and located Yurchak, Lamon said.
Witnesses identified Yurchak as the person who committed the criminal mischief acts, Lamon said.
Yurchak was disoriented and was transported to Newton Memorial Hospital to be treated. He will be served with the charges once he is released from the hospital, Lamon said.
