HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – An emotionally disturbed man who police say allegedly made a threat to put a gun to another individual’s head at the Hackettstown Senior Housing complex Wednesday afternoon had no weapons.
At 1:35 p.m., town police responded to an apartment at the Hackettstown Senior Housing, located at 681 Willow Grove St, for a report of a male that threatened to put a gun to another individual’s head and then he locked himself in his apartment, police said.
When police arrived on scene the area was cordoned off and residences in the surrounding apartments were evacuated, police said.
The Warren County Tactical Team responded and made contact with the male inside the apartment. A search was conducted and no weapons were found, police said.
He was then transported to Hackettstown Medical Center for an evaluation. Police didn’t release the man’s name or age.
There were no injuries and the scene was cleared at 3:15 p.m., police said.
Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Fire Dept, Hackettstown Rescue Squad, Warren County Communication Command Center, Independence Twp. Police Department, Hackettstown Department of Public Works and the Hackettstown Animal Control Officer.
