October 8th through the 14th is National Fire Prevention Week, and to kick things off, Morning Mike spoke with Susan McKelvey, Communications Manager for the National Fire Protection Association. The theme for this year’s National Fire Protection Week is “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” In a fire, seconds can mean the difference between residents of our community escaping safely from a fire or having their lives end in tragedy. That’s why this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme: “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” is so important. It reinforces why everyone needs to have an escape plan.
