HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown woman is facing drug charges after Xanax was found in an engagement ring box Wednesday afternoon.
Martinez-Mendez, 21, was charged with possession of Xanax and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 3:27 p.m., town police responded to the 100 block of Route 182 for a possible theft incident, police said.
While police were investigating the theft, Martinez-Mendez needed to get her engagement ring out of her vehicle, police said.
When the engagement ring box was opened, seventeen Xanax bars were located inside the box, police said.
Police located inside the vehicle a red diamond grinder with suspected marijuana residue and a multi colored glass pipe with suspected burnt marijuana residue, police said.
Martinez-Mendez was released pending a court appearance.
