HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – Hopatcong police are asking residents to check home-surveillance videos to help them solve a series of car burglaries that occurred late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, according to Hopatcong Captain Thomas Kmetz.

“Residents who left their vehicles unlocked were burglarized,” Kmetz said.

The following streets are where police received reports, or where officers found car doors opened:

  • Chincopee Ave
  • West End Ave
  • Barton Lane
  • 300 Block of Durban Ave
  • Smokerise
  • Pahaquarry

The suspect(s) left the car doors open after they rummaged through the vehicles, Kmetz said.

Those who had their vehicles locked were not victimized. Police remind residents to lock your homes and vehicles.

Anyone that has home security footage in and around those streets is asked to contact Hopatcong police at 973-398-5000.
