On Tuesday, Morning Mike had the privilege of catching up with former Long Valley resident Brett Newton. Brett has been in Los Angeles for about 15 years, working in the entertainment/movie industry. During a trip back east about two years ago, Brett stopped by the RNJ studios to talk with Mike about a project – producing a full-length feature movie.

That dream is now a reality as “Scramble” has it’s East Coast premier in Hackettstown on Thursday evening, Dec. 7th. (This is a closed, invitation only event, so you’ll have to wait for the film’s debut on Dec. 26th, 2017.) During the interview, Brett shared the history of the project, as well as the challenges and learning experiences in producing an “indie” film, without the backing of a major studio. Newton and his business partner Noah Scott wrote the story; Newton is the producer, Scott the director, and both also appear in the film.

You can learn more and see a trailer on the film’s website, scramblemovie.com.
