Morris Twp. police seeking information in shots fired incident

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Morris Township Police are currently investigating a “shooting incident” that occurred Wednesday evening in Morris Township, according to township police.

At 11:56 p.m., witnesses reported hearing gun fire on Jersey Avenue. Police responded to the scene and evidence was recovered, police said.

It’s unknown if anyone was injured and there were no victims at the scene. The motive of the shooting remains under investigation, police said.

“The investigation is active, however we feel confident that there is no danger to the public and it is an isolated incident,” police said.

Based on witness statements, there were three males involved in the incident and they may possibly be Hispanic and/or African American, police said.

It was also reported that a light colored Nissan Altima–as seen in the video– was observed leaving the scene, police said
