HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Legendary R&B Singer/Songwriter, Bobby Caldwell of Great Meadows, is teaming up with Fox News Channel Anchor and Soul Singer, Kelly Wright, to release a brand new duet.
The duo joined forces in late 2017 to record a passionate remake of Sam Cooke’s, “A Change is Gonna Come,” as a single for Wright’s latest album, “Love, Freedom, Peace.” The song will air for the first time on WRNJ tomorrow, February 20th, on Jimmy Howes’ Afternoon Drive.
The throwback 1960’s song pertains to the Civil Rights Movement, and translates beautifully into a modern R&B melody filled with depth and powerful vocals delivered by both Wright and Caldwell.
Wright is currently an Anchor and Reporter for Fox News Channel, and co-anchor of “America’s News Headquarters.” He is primarily based in the network’s NYC and Washington, D.C., bureaus, and was a co-host of “Fox and Friends Weekend” from July 2006 to January 2008.
Wright, who is also a devout Christian, says he always had an appetite for music; and released his first Christian & Gospel Album, “Believe,” in 2005.
Caldwell and Wright later connected at B.B. Kings in New York City, where Wright joined Caldwell on stage to sing Caldwell’s 1979 smash hit, “What You Won’t Do for Love.”
Caldwell has been a renowned R&B-Jazz icon for 40 years. He is also a frequent guest on WRNJ Radio, and resides on a horse farm in Great Meadows with his family.
Tune into WRNJ 104.7 FM, 92.7 FM, 1510 AM, or Listen Live on WRNJ.com, tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to hear, “A Change Gonna Come!” You won’t want to miss it!
