On the Friday edition of the RNJMorning Program, Morning Mike did something he’s never down before – he talked to a futurist! John Smart, the CEO of Foresight University,  is the Centenary University Gates-Ferry Distinguished Visiting Lecturer, and he’ll be speaking in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland on Wednesday evening, February 28th, at 7:00 p.m. And he is a futurist.

During his presentation on Wednesday, John will discuss “Tomorrow is in Your Hands: Creating an Amazing Future.” Smart will focus on our technological and general future in four key foresight areas. Each area will explore how to become better at the Three Ps of foresight, seeing both Probable and Possible futures, and then envisioning and creating Preferred futures, for ourselves, our teams, society, and all life on Earth. This event is free and open to the public; no registration is required.

His book, The Foresight Guide: Anticipating, Creating and Managing in the 21st Century (2017) explores methods for improving personal and organizational strategic foresight which means improving our anticipation, innovation, and strategy in today’s rapidly-changing digital and entrepreneurial environment. “I am so pleased that I will be working with members of the Centenary community,” says Smart. “I am looking forward to an engaging evening and I hope many Centenary neighbors and friends join us for this insightful opportunity.” Centenary University invites you to come and learn how to create your preferred future.
