BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Three Sussex County residents are facing drug charges after they were arrested during the execution of search warrants on Thursday.
Thomas Guo of Byram Township, NJ was charged with possession with intent to distribute over 5 pounds of marijuana.
Michael Puco of Byram Township, NJ was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
Benefacio Carreno of Hopatcong Borough, NJ was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
The Byram Township Police Department along with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force executed search warrants at 7 Matthew Drive on Thursday.
The search warrants were issued at the conclusion of a controlled dangerous substance distribution investigation. Numerous items were allegedly seized as evidence, including over 10 pounds of marijuana and approximately $9,000 in suspected proceeds from the sales of controlled dangerous substance, police said.
Guo, whose a resident of 7 Matthew Drive, was arrested at the scene, police said.
During the service of the warrants, a vehicle occupied by Puco and Carreno, attempted to leave the residence and were detained by officers on scene. After a brief investigation, both occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest, police said.
Guo was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of bail.
Puco and Carreno were both released with a pending court date.
