The Hackettstown Area Senior Hall of Fame was established in 1997 to recognize senior citizens in the Northwest New Jersey region who have made a significant impact on the lives of others in the community, primarily through volunteerism. The Senior Hall of Fame honorees are recognized during a celebration luncheon and ceremony in May, during Older Americans Month. This year’s luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd at David’s Country Inn in Hackettstown.
The Hackettstown Area Senior Hall of Fame has inducted over 200 members since its inception. This roster includes individuals from Warren County and adjacent parts of Hunterdon, Morris and Sussex counties. The Hall of Fame is a program conducted annually by the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center. We believe that senior citizens are a vital group who contribute a great deal to their communities and society and deserve to be recognized.
Individuals who are 60 years of age or older as of January 1, 2018, are eligible to be nominated as members of the Senior Hall of Fame. Nominations are accepted each year starting in February and must be received by March 30th in order to be considered. A selection committee of current Senior Hall of Fame members and other Foundation for HMC representatives will review all nominations and decide the Senior Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
When preparing your nomination, please consider the following questions:
- Which community organizations (or individuals) benefit from this senior’s volunteer efforts?
- How long have they dedicated their time and talents to each? How many hours do they volunteer monthly?
- How do the nominee’s volunteer contributions help others and/or make an impact on the greater Hackettstown area?
