HACKETTSTOWN, N.J (Warren County) – Six years ago, the town began its sidewalk and streetscape project — which included a complete overhaul of four blocks between Valentine Street and East Plane Street.
The town in 2011, began the second phase of the project. The improvements were targeted between Center and Warren streets and from East Plane to Willow Grove streets.
The final phase of the sidewalk and streetscape project will begin Monday, June 27. The work will be on the south side of Main Street along the frontage of David’s Country Inn and on the north side of Main Street; along the frontage of Speedway Gas. The work will also include the south side of Main Street between Stiger Street and the railroad tracks also along the frontage of 105 Main Street.
“Upon completion; Main Street will have a unified and updated look,” Hackettstown’s Mayor Maria DiGiovanni said.
They’re will be periodic lane/road closures and lane shifts in the area. The work will be Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., according to Hackettstown Police.
“We want to remind motorists that when you see flashing lights on the side of the road, slow down, and if it’s safe, Move Over,” police said.
