WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Long Valley First Aid Squad was called out to Schooley’s Mountain Park Sunday afternoon to perform a rescue.
A person hiking reportedly had a broken ankle, according to radio reports.
At 1:35 p.m., emergency crews made their way on foot to the injured hiker, who was approximately a half mile from the trail head, carrying a stokes basket and medical packs. It was determined that additional manpower was needed to carry out this patient due to the rough terrain, according to the Long Valley First Aid Squad.
Assisting at the scene was Long Valley Fire Company No.1 and the Morris County Park Police Department.
